Accepting card payments

Connect a card gateway like Casys CPay, NLB Bankart, Halkbank, or Stripe — credentials, environments, and 3-D Secure.

Last updated: 8 min read

Accepting cards usually unlocks the biggest jump in conversion. Most of the work is getting the right agreement and credentials from your bank or processor — the connection itself is quick.

Before you start

  • A merchant agreement with your acquiring bank or processor for online card acceptance.
  • Your gateway credentials (and the test/sandbox details).
  • 3-D Secure enabled — it's both a security requirement and a chargeback shield.
  • Agreed refund and dispute processes.

Connect the gateway

  1. Add the method

Go to Commerce Management → Payment Methods → Add New Payment Method and pick the Driver for your gateway (Casys CPay, NLB Bankart, Halkbank NestPay, Stripe, PayPal, …).

  2. Enter the secrets

Add your API keys / merchant IDs in the Secrets section. Each secret has an Environment (sandbox or production) so you can test safely before going live.

  3. Test, then switch to production

Run a sandbox payment end to end, then set the Environment to production and do one final live test.
