For a retailer like Tinex, loyalty isn't a feature bolted onto commerce — it's the centre of the relationship with the customer. So we built the eshop the other way around: with the loyalty platform as the source of truth and commerce wrapped around it.
The challenge
Tinex runs a serious loyalty programme — the kind customers genuinely build habits around, through a mobile app they use constantly. The challenge was launching an online store that respected that. A generic eshop would have treated loyalty as an afterthought: a points field tacked onto checkout, perpetually out of sync with the app and the in-store reality.
They needed ecommerce where loyalty was the spine, not a plugin — where the same identity, points, and member benefits flowed seamlessly between the mobile app, the online store, and the rest of their services.
What we did
We delivered a custom tier with the Cosmo Tinex eshop built directly on top of their loyalty platform, treating loyalty as the authoritative source of truth and connecting it to the many services that depend on it.
- The loyalty platform is the source of truth — the eshop and mobile app both defer to it.
- Customer identity, points, and member benefits stay consistent across app and web.
- Commerce flows are designed around loyalty, not the other way around.
- Multiple connected services tie into the same loyalty backbone.
- A custom tier shaped to a loyalty-native retailer rather than a generic store template.
“Our customers live in our loyalty app. The eshop had to speak that language natively — and now it does.”
The result
Cosmo Tinex now runs an online store that feels like a true extension of their loyalty programme rather than a separate channel fighting it for the truth. A member's points and benefits are the same whether they open the app or the website.
Building commerce around loyalty — instead of squeezing loyalty into commerce — gave Tinex an eshop that strengthens the customer relationship they've spent years building, rather than diluting it.
