Managing stock and inventory

Set stock per location, transfer between warehouses, bulk-edit quantities, and read the movement history.

Last updated: 7 min read

Stock in Vendor is tracked per variation, per location. 'Available' is therefore a calculation across your locations, not a single number — which is what makes multi-warehouse selling reliable.

Setting and editing stock

  • Set initial quantities on each variation at your default location (quantities can't go below zero).
  • Use Manage your Store → Inventory (the bulk stock editor) to update many rows at once.
  • On higher plans, import stock by SKU in bulk from a spreadsheet.

Transfers between locations

Move stock between warehouses with a transfer — it subtracts from the source and adds to the destination in one atomic step, and requires enough stock at the source. Both sides are recorded as a paired movement.

Movement history

Every change is recorded in an append-only ledger with a cause, so you can always answer 'why did this number change?'. Causes include: order placed, order cancelled, order refunded, manual adjustment, ERP sync, reservation expired, and unit transfer.
