Refunds, cancellations, and COD settlement
How to refund part or all of an order, what cancelling does to stock, and how cash-on-delivery settlement works.
Refunds and cancellations are handled from the order detail screen. Both keep a full record — orders are never deleted.
Refunding an order
- You can refund the full remaining balance or a specific amount (greater than zero, up to two decimals).
- A refund can't exceed what's left to refund on the order.
- Refunds can't be reversed — double-check the amount before you confirm.
Cancelling
Cancelling an order moves it to a terminal Cancelled state and releases any stock that was reserved for it, putting those units back into available inventory. Use cancel rather than delete — there is no delete.
Cash on delivery settlement
Mark COD-settled
When the courier collects the cash from the customer, mark the order COD-settled.
Mark COD-remitted
When that money is paid back to you, mark it COD-remitted. Now the cash trail matches the order.
